how to read the laser code on Redbreast 15

Postby birdman1099 » Mon Feb 01, 2016 5:04 pm

I recently picked up a Redbreast 15. I had several bottles in the past , but it has been a while since I picked another on up. Sadly, I feel the product did not taste the way I was expecting. And wondering if it is just a batch variation or a sign of things to come. either way, i thought it would be helpful if I kept track of the laser coding. this bottle is: L227031283 19:55 (clearly the 19:55 is the time) I'd love to know the year of the bottling.

thanks,

Hi there,

L2 denotes 2012 and 270 is theJulian date i.e. Day 270 of 366 in this case.

As TWB said 2- is the year, 2012 here. 270 is the Julian day 270/365(27th Sept?). The next, "3" is the bottling plant. That's Waterford here. "1" is Fox & Geese Dublin, "2" is Belfast I think. The final numbers "1283" are the batch number I assume.
