Jameson 12. Malty?

Let's talk whiskey.

Jameson 12. Malty?

Postby Wilson_smyth » Sun Dec 13, 2015 5:11 pm

Had my first taste of jameson 12 last night and one thing that really stood out was the very malty taste, considering its a pot still. Ive tried quite a few pot stills and none have been anything close to this malty. Dont get me wrong, its not a malt monster or anything, but it just caught me off guard as that malty bite usually isnt in pot stills.

Is it something i imagined or is there a good hint of malt in there?

The Jameson 12 isn't a Pot Still. The 15 from 2000 was.

It's a blend of grain & pot still. I'm a fan but prefer Pot Stills too. It has sweet malt notes to it but I never really considered it malty. I'll have to crack open another and try it out.
