This seems to have disappeared from the CWS and reappeared in the Whisky Exchange in the UK @ £117! I believe the CWS were re-pricing around now, perhaps that's why it's off the website?

It also seems to have disappeared from Dublin airport duty free... ask a staff member you never know they might have a spare pallet in the back!!!

Yes I've heard that rumour that they are bottling another batch! Could it be the first step towards permanently introducing the RB15 to the market? Interesting to taste the new batch against the old ones if it happens!

A thought experiment with imaginary (but possible!) PPS whiskies:

If the following PPS bottlings were available what would ye be willing to pay for them?

Redbreast 15YO NCF @ 46%
Redbreast 18YO NCF @ 48%
Redbreast 25YO NCF @ 50%

Keep in mind, the Jameson 18YO blend is €125.00!

(has anyone on this group ever bought a bottle?) and Midleton (possibly an even younger blend) is €150.00!

(!!!!!).

I have bought the Jameson 18yo (or had it bought for me at the Duty Free price).

Do we know what a 25yo sherry-matured PPS cask tastes like? Actually, what was that Dungourney cask? It was certainly flavourful and could contribute something nice to a vatting with 25yo bourbon-matured PPS.

I've bought Jameson 18, but not at Irish prices. It is very nice, as you know.

I hate harping on abouit the price of Jameson 18yo here in Ireland but 125 is just nuts for it. It is way beyond any kind of realistic pricing and I'd imagine they sell very little of it at that price in Ireland. I have bought in total 5 bottles and the most I've paid for it is 90Euro In Ireland which I paid begrudgingly but bought most abroad and the cheapest was 52Euro.

Prices for Redbreast aged.

65-75Euro is plenty for a 15yo Redbreast.

85-90Euro is more than reasonable for an 18yo Redbreast (Jameson 18yo should be no more than 75Euro) Remember you can get a Laphroaig 18yo for 80Euro in Ally's.

And for a 25yo I'd let them do what they want withing reason i.e. 180-300Euro

well, 120 sounds unfair, but i paid 65 the most for a bottle and it is well worth that price, and it is one of my favourite :thumbsup:

In fairness, I think IDL set the 120 price. It was there for 90 euro at one stage, but they all sold out.

IDL will also set the price for the new batch when it comes out here.
