List of Irish Distilleries

Just looking back through various posts there are lots of projects in the pipeline - I wonder is it time to try and compile a list of all the distilleries either producing or in the pipeline. I know there's been a few "dropouts" along the way but, in any event, it might be interesting to get an idea of how many functioning distilleries we might have in a few years. My head hurts trying to track them all down so maybe I'll start a list and other can add to it.

So the obvious starting points are:

Midleton
Bushmill
Cooley
Kilbeggam

Tullamore
Dingle
Teeling - Dublin
Teeling - Dundalk

Micro-Midleton - Does this count as a separate distillery?

Glendalough
Walsh Whiskey Carlow?
Slane Castle?
Blackwater
Echlinville - Co. Down?
Titanic
Waterford - Some Bruichladdich people in the old Diageo Brewery

Alltech - Carlow or Dublin? I don't know anymore!

Carlow brewing company - Is that the same as above? Are they doing something else?

Boann (Louth - never heard of it until 30 seconds ago!)
Rademon Estate (Co. Down - again anew one to me)

Powerscourt - Too soon to count this?

That's 21 names but some may well be defunct, some may be double counted. And I'm sure I've missed some.

Now that I think of it I bet DavidH's site has all this info - maybe I should have started there.

Anyway, comments/additions/subtractions/abuse all welcome!

Altech are finished distilling in Carlow at the moment I hear. They are still trying to get things done in Dublin.

I'm not sure what's happening with Blackwater distillery.

The Waterford Distillery should be bonding by January/February next year.

I would consider Midleton Micro Distillery separate to the main Distillery. I'm looking forward to the results too.

You seem to have omitted "Connacht Whiskey Company" Ballina,who seem to be well on their way with 3 stills in situ. I passed by St.Jame's (Alltech) a while back and they are busy with the restoration of the church. The stills arrived on site in Waterford Tuesday and are being installed at the moment. What's the story with Dublin Whiskey Distillery on Mill Street:

They had a big thing about how they were going to start distilling before Teeling even got their planning permission around 2013, and I haven't heard a peep from them since. They have a premises and I think they had stills etc so it's strange that they haven't been publicising themselves more.

I think they had Internal issues among the owners. They have all the cogs but need the right mechanics to get them going.

The one thing I like to know is what happened with James Swan. I was looking forward to his take on Irish Whiskey.

Looking back at the list ,I noticed that there is no mention of "The Lough Gill Distillery Ltd" .
