Replenish my Ardbeg 10 or try Laphoraig?

Let's talk whiskey.

Replenish my Ardbeg 10 or try Laphoraig?

Postby Wilson_smyth » Sun Aug 09, 2015 6:07 pm

Ive tried Lagavulin 16 & Ardbeg 10 from Islay & love both. Ardbeg is gong to be empty soon and i have a decision to make, do i buy another Ardbeg 10 or try Laphoraig 10?
They are roughly the same price, give or take a tenner. I love the Ardbeg, its just the right balance of smoke, salt and fruit.

In an ideal world id buy both but wages are not infinite so going to ask you guys what you think

The Laphoraig is well worth trying. It was my favourite Islay for a long time.

If you like Ardbeg you should have no issues with Laphroaig

To be on the safe side maybe Try the flavoursome Laphroaig QC (Quarter Cask) first very yummy indeed ;) .

There is also the slightly tamer Laphroaig tripple Wood & Select editions which would also be okay ones to start with.

The big iodine hit from Laphroaig can be the making or breaking for people. IOf it's to your liking you'll probably love any Laphroaig but I mentioned the 3 above as they are a bit more rounded.
