Teeling have launched a series of whiskeys in the loop.

They are limited editions so I'd expect they won't be around for long.

€295 duty free, or €395 duty paid. Series to be released in approximate 250 bottle lots over 5 years.

At those prices they won't fly off the shelves me thinks.

But what's with the BS on the Duty paid price???

Duty on a bottle and even vat added wold never add another €100 to what is already a €300 bottle.

The duty on a premium bottle should be exactly the same as the duty on a standard bottle :|

There was no mention of price in that article. Those are very steep. I thought €200 would be on the high side.

They're for the corporate market, rather than real whiskey drinkers, I suppose.

The pricing is substantially higher than I would have expected !
Recent releases on the Irish front bring to mind the saying of
'Killing the Goose that lays the Golden Egg' . Prices are something
that could kill off the Irish whiskey 'Renaissance' before it has even
gathered steam ------ shades of the 'Celtic Tiger'.
