Midleton Reserve Circa 70s-80s

Let's talk whiskey.

Midleton Reserve Circa 70s-80s

Postby Hennessy4711 » Fri Mar 15, 2013 12:07 am

My 86 year old mother grew up in a pub, as did I. She has a box of 6 unopened original Midelton Reserve in it´s original box (12). The bottle are embossed with a celtic clover design.
Does anyone know if these are valuable or if they would be a desired whiskey? All replies welcome. Thank you Orla

Hi Orla,
That's a great find. They are still a sought after bottle. I'm assuming you based in Ireland judging on your name. Good Munster name.
It was a difficult bottle to get Ireland back then. Your mother's family was probably regretting buying them at the time, they were hard to sell back then.
I'm not sure the value now but if you check whiskyauctions.com you may get an idea. I'll see what I can find when I'm in front of a PC.
Four blessings upon you - Older whiskey - Younger women - Faster horses - More money
