The more the merrier, I believe.

It can only be healthy for Irish Whiskey.

The bottle is a 3cl bottle but mine was filled to the very top so I reckon I got a 3.5-4 cl measure. Once cleared I'll measure it out.

Mine too was full to the brim. Fionnán and myself had a little from it on Friday afternoon and there is still over 15mls left.

Lovely stuff from Teeling Whiskey Company. The slight peaty taste has me wishing for more.

It also went down well in Dingle for Dick Mac's Tasting.

Had a small taste there, slightly peaty, almost similar to the Nikka Pure Malt black. Seems much younger than it is. What do ye think?

Latest sample arrived today. It a Midleton Mystery Cask, distilled November 2001 and drawn down May 2013. 11 &1/2 year old! Bottled at 55.8%

Very tasty, then I cut it with water which was a fatal mistake because my local supply is gone putrid lately. I've kept enough for a taste tomorrow when I can.

Mine arrived last Friday. Only getting round to it now.

Quite light compared to other Midletons, don't think this is PPS and possibly a single grain or a blend of grain and malt. My guess would be a single grain though.

What say others.

That is what I thought, although I deleted my comment in case I was way off. Also reminded me of some rum casks I've tasted.

It reminds me of an Irishman Cask strength but not as fruity. Definitely a mystery.

As ye say lads could well be miles off but just can't seem to get any PPS charachter off this at all. Even the first of Ally's Midleton single casks which was a married at birth blend and that seemed bigger but that was so long ago maybe I forget.

A third fill !!!! :o ;) Think not ...

Will be interesting to see what it is ...

Yes just saw that ...

A special bottling of Midleton whiskey selected by us here at the Celtic Whiskey Shop to celebrate our 10th Anniversary.

Vatted from two casks, one of which was filled with Single Pot Still whiskey, the other of which held Single Grain whiskey. Both were matured for the entire 12 years in 1st fill rum casks

Quite surprised it has a high percentage of PPS in it as I really can't get it but maybe it's the Rum influence that detracts from the PPS character.

Interesting announcement today... Preston's 10 JJS if I'm not mistaken. What does everyone think? I, for one, am quite excited. I have a half bottle of this that I've been dying to try, now I'll get a sneak peek!

I got an email yesterday ....

Dear Whiskey Club members,

We are pleased to announce that we are just about ready for the Irish Whiskey Awards voting to get underway.

Before we get onto the details we can reveal that the last sample sent out as a 'Mystery Midleton Cask' was actually our new Midleton Celtic Whiskey Shop 10th Anniversary bottling. You can find more details on the whiskey here
. We hope you enjoyed it!

The next whiskey sample is something a bit different. We have some old Jameson 10 year old whiskey that was bottled by Prestons of Drogheda. This would have been distilled at the old Bow Street distillery in their big old pot stills. Bow Street Jameson is a curious beast. Expect this one to have some unusual and interesting flavours! We will be sending these out in a few weeks with a Tweet tasting scheduled for 7pm on Monday 5th August using the hashtag #prestons10. Due to limited stocks the sample will be a little smaller than before.

P.S. I have tasted this before on a couple occasions and all I can say is it is interesting ...

Well now I'm a bit more skeptical... "Interesting" doesn't exactly sound like a ringing endorsement!

Not tasted it yet either but had a smell and it smells promising.

Certainly better than my last experience so hopefully a nice surprise awaits.

I also have a sample of another Preston's so will be interesting to taste them side by side.
