Let's talk whiskey.

A nice bottle of Glenfiddich 14 year old Rich Oak. I was well impressed with this one. I finished an 18 last week and this compares well.

I got a bottle of Teeling Cask Strength Madeira last Wednesday. Finished it today. Lovely whiskey.

A few more bottles have suffered from the dreaded condition of Strenuous Ullage &/or Percipitation (or more commonly known as SUP ;) )

Bottles to suffer fatal instances of this condition of late are ...

Bushmills 10yo
Cadenheads Cooley 21yo
Laphroaig Cairdeas (Port Wood Edition)
Kilbeggan Distillery Reserve Malt (Glad this is gone to be honest, not a huge fan)
Power's 12yo

That Three Swallow I got last week didn't last long. I've very few open bottles now. Time for some restocking.

I got a Teelings Small batch Rum Casks. It wend down very well. I'm a fan of this style ever since the Bushmills Caribbean casks. This is another for the restock list.

Trader Joes Single Malt Irish. At $26 a very nice deal. They still had some last week but now that I need more they are out of stock. Hope that's a temporary thing.

I had never heard of this Whiskey before and checked it out. It claims to be triple distilled yet has hints of smoke. Where's it from. I'm assuming Cooleys/Beam Suntory but I couldn't find any more information.

I heard once, but cannot confirm, that it is a Cooley blend. I'd bet so too. I'm not good at tasting notes but I did like it more than other Cooley private labels. It was richer and more complex than what I'd expect from a $26 single malt. I would also say that the hint of smoke is a very small hint...

I found a little bit of Green Spot in an old bottle. I feared it may have oxidised but not too badly, it's still glorious. There's only about 70-80 mls so I'm trying to savour every drop.

I just noticed my Powers are lining up to be recycled. I has the Regular, a Three Swallow & a John's Lane. It reminded me I need to get a bottle of Signature Release.

Another Mano A Lámh bit the dust. I can't restock these now. Ah sure it was good while it lasted.

I'm betting in years I see bottles of this for €300+.

Redbreast 12. Got replaced with the 15yo one but IMO does not worth the price difference.

Yes, the pricing of this as a 15yo is quite steep. I was lucky to get several bottles of the Original release for a much fairer price and it is still possibly the best release to date.

Have one open currently with a couple in reserve :sunny:

Teeling Single malt & powers signature release. Have another bottle of Teeling but will have to either replace or try something new to fill the space of the powers.

Was emptying the glass recycling bin lately and I noted the following have been to meet their maker over the past couple months.

3 Powers, 1 John's Lane 12yo, 1 regular 12yo and a Powers NAS.
Redbreast 12yo
Locke's 8yo
Also a Aberlour Abunadh
Laphroaig 10yo Cask Strength Batch 4
Laphroaig QC
Tailsker 10yo
Talisker Storm

and nearly forgot a Lagavulin 16yo

Now please be assured that I did not open all of these and finish them in the space of 2 months I'm not that bad ;)

Just returned from the IWS Marrowbone Lane whiskey launch. Great night, met lots of friends and enjoyed some fantastic Irish Single Pot Still whiskey!

I'm glad I got to help with one or three of those myself.
Great night and really enjoyed the lineup and catching up with old & new alike.

That Marrowbone sits well. It lingers and lingers, a cracker of a whiskey. I'm glad I have a little hand in it.

A few bottles hit the recycle bin of late

Paddy Centenary Single Pot Still - This was nice easy drinking pot still.
Chivas Regal 12yo a steal at €31 in Tesco

And a few slowly becoming irreplaceable bottles going by the wayside too.

Cadenhead Cooley 13yo peated single malt. Very nice :salut:
Redbreast 15yo (original version) Top notch this and still the best version in my eyes  A couple of these still left so no panic just yet 8-)
Jameson 15yo Pure Pot Still (Millennium release) and I hope I still have one of these left but not sure.

I've been living in Africa for a few months and limited in the availability, especially Irish. So the last I've finished was a LITRE bottle of $24 (22 EUR) Tullamore DEW, with standard Jameson locally costing a whopper $17 (15 EUR) per litre. When it's that price the bottles are hitting the bin much quicker!

Trying to decide what my first to get through on return home will be; currently tossing up either WT Redhead, RB Lustau or Tullamore Phoenix...it's a terrible dilemma to have!

John L Sullivan Irish Bourbon. Bought the last 4 at the state owned liquor store in South Carolina in March. Just finished the second. My friends are crazy for it which is good because it wasn't very expensive but bad because I may never get to buy it again. The last 2 are hidden away...

There are still some bottles of Greenore floating around out there. Not sure what it's like in Europe but in Chicago it can still be found. I'd guess it's a slow seller. I bought a couple for the collection before it's gone forever.
