Nervously tried a sample today, neat !

I couldn't believe how drinkable it was @ 65%... however I can't remember what it taste's like

Only joking beautiful nose fruity, floral yet an unmistakable cereal nose quite distinct to new make single malt.

Warrants further investigation

I wouldn't drink it all night... ...but I think it is nice. A little blast from the past!

Are there other potins available at such high strength? Is it much different to the Kilbeggan new make?

...The first single pot still (or pure pot still) spirit made outside of Midleton Distillery in over 35 years...

Tasting note:
Aromas of black pepper, candy floss, malted barley, half-baked bread and raisined fruits. Reminiscent of a good grappa, and more subtle than the 65% ABV would suggest.
To taste it is sweet and fruity with flavours of cloves, orange peel, malt, raisined fruits, barley sugars and sugared almonds.
Warm and soothing on the finish...

Interesting the "raisined fruits", which would usually be associated with cask maturation. Looking forward to this.

Definitely different! the Riverstown Pot Still new make is in my view softer, more biscuity, dried fruits; versus floral, citrus & fresh fruits (apples & lemons) for the Kilbeggan Single Malt new make.

Love to know what others think, when they get a chance to pop in to Dawson St for a taste.

I could not say for sure but I would imagine it is column distilled spirit and going by the fruity notes that some of tasting notes say I would imagine it is made mainly from barley with I presume some malted content. But totally guessing.

I sampled some last night,impressive too even if seriously strong.
Looks like there should be more competition in the single pot still whiskey in the future too.Fair play to Cooleys

Much maltier than IDL new make, I think. I'm relying on memory for the IDL stuff, though. Can't wait to taste this matured. I think it might be great.
