Hi Adrian
I was on Mull for a week and I know that Tobermory/Ledaig may not be everyone's idea of nice whisky, but I have nothing against them. Then I was on Skye for a week and there's no problem about getting close to nice whisky there. :D

Well all I can say is that I'm envious of you ... fair play ... anyway it's only fair to share it around ... get any interesting bottles while on your jollies.

By the way ... can you get onto any of these by road(bridge). They always appear to be quite close to the main land but what do I know

Love to go to Skye but I presume Mull is just as nice

There's a bridge to Skye from the Kyle of Lochalsh these days, but I still prefer the ferry from Mallaig (I just like ferries). Mull needs a ferry (45 mins) from Oban. Both islands are spectacularly beautiful, but very different. I'll try to post some photos soon.

I did get a few bottles when I was away. There were a couple of bottles of the Iona malt (which is a vatting of Tobermory and Ledaig), also a bottle of 7yo Ledaig. My favourite buy was a bottle of the 30th Anniversary Poit Dubh, from Pràban na Linne, the Gaelic Whisky Company on Skye. It's a 36yo vatting and is very nice indeed. I don't have a picture yet, but you can see it here:

Poit Dubh 30th Anniversary Malt

I also got a nice single cask port finished Ben Nevis from the distillery on the way home. It had been bottled for a Swedish society, but they had 18 bottles for sale at the distillery, until I bought the last one that is. :D

I'm on my own again. In fact there's been no one here all night. Have I missed something?

Well here I am on my todd again ... however I'm not too preturbed ... Time Team on TV and a decent pour of a 60's Blackbush so I'm happy :D

Seeminly Stewart is searching for prehistoric features in the landscape :ugeek: ;)

Good night

Jaysus, I go away for a while and when I come back everyone's gone. Where is everyone?

Enjoying a Bushmills 1608 at the moment. I drank too much last saturday and decided to give the drink a rest. Clearly as I only managed to last till Thursday it was but a short rest!

I'm here myself. Not drinking tonight, just trying to write my first app for a mobile phone. Unfamiliar territory so progress is slow.

Enough of that for tonight. Next I must send an event reminder out to the membership...

Bizarrely there are two people on line at the moment and they both appear to be me. I guess I left my computer on at work.

Was out earlier with the other half and we had a nice meal ... I got a wonderful T-bone and had a good strong coffee and hot Chocolate Fudge sponge to finish.

Happy and full we moseyed home where I was offered a whiskey, even though I'm on stand by 8-)

Sure one won't kill me ;)
